About Us

MUV exists to help build a confident, connected and capable Muslim community that participates meaningfully in the
life of Aotearoa New Zealand. We bring together civic education, media and grassroots initiatives so that our
community can be better informed, better represented and better equipped to lead and serve.

Why MUV exists

Our work responds to a simple need: Muslim communities should not only be spoken about, but should have the
knowledge, platforms, relationships and leadership capability to participate in shaping the society we share. MUV creates
pathways for people to be heard, to learn, to contribute and to lead.

Mission, Vision & Values

Display the approved mission, vision and five values from Section 3 as visually distinct blocks. Do not use the older
brand-guide “mission statement” personality wording as the organisation’s formal mission.

How we Work

  • Educate — strengthen identity, civic literacy and practical understanding.
  •  Connect — build relationships across ethnic, generational and ideological silos.
  •  Empower — create pathways for participation, representation and contribution.
  •  Lead — develop people and initiatives grounded in service, responsibility and courageous compassion.
  •  Impact — translate learning and connection into stronger communities and a more just, cohesive Aotearoa.
